Yep, as ravun reiterated and I said yesterday, car manufacturers measure the power at the flywheel. I'm sorry to spoil your "visions" of what killerwasps means when you're looking at new car stats, but the engine isn't even IN the car that you're looking at, and is usually in some small room, on the other side of a glass window, with an engineer sitting at the controls of a engine dyno setup. I'm lead to believe that engine Dyno's are quite accurate, so comparison between them is apparently valid, but I dont' have enough knowledge in the area to know whether this is true or not.

Because car manufacturers use engine dyno numbers, so does APR in the USA (they have one at their head quarters). All the other ECU venders also use engine dyno numbers.

Regardless of what your view is though, as has been mentioned, all "at the wheel" dyno numbers need to be viewed for what they are. They are only a valid comparison of before and after results for the same car (hopefully with the same ambient temps and humidity levels). They are only valid for comparing different cars if they're performed on the same dyno on the same day (again, hopefully with the same ambient temps and humidity levels). Due to this halojump's numbers really mean almost nothing - as we have no baseline or alternate car to compare it against.

This one was done in Toowoomba a few months ago - My only experience with Dyno Dynamics & shootout mode is they can vary 10 - 15% from dyno to dyno.

Anyone have any others to compare?

This was also stage 1 only, 33kw wheel gain. Welcome to Advanced Service Centre, Toowoomba Queensland - APR Stage One on a Golf R

There we go. That has a before and after, so it actually makes some sense

Based on the dyno graph of the OP the air temp was 22 and Intake temp was 14, so those temps are pretty low. Looking a the second graph (run of 188@ the wheels) a 33kw gain @ the wheels is very good bang for your buck IMO. Drive train loss through the awd and auto would be a fair bit

I had prob 60+ dyno runs with my last car VE SS and stock produced 224 rwkw's

I was also told the stage 1 tune alone has around 180 changes over the stock tune? Congrats Halojump on your new found power I'm sure it feels grouse on the road. Cool pics as well, never seen the front end exposed, the IC is pretty big!

Exhaust is a quality piece of kit, had a good look at Fabs the other day and is definately on the list fr 2011 :p

I always went with the notion that dyno runs were absolutely useless unless you had a before/after on the same dyno, from the same operator to show the gains. They can be fudged so easily that comparing to anything else is a waste of time.

That's not bad for just a tune. Does upgrading the fuel pump with stage 1 bring further gains earlier in the rev range (2500-3500) given the limitation of the stock pump at lower rpm?

Mostly the mid range - and certainly the torque numbers are up with the fuel pump. - That will be the big advantage of the pump.

I've just infracted several people and deleted 6 posts. Guys, if you don't have anything to say which is on topic, then just don't post.

For everyone else, this thread is about the APR Stage II+ kit, not pricing, not how to purchase individual items for your own Stage III kit, and certainly not your strange desires involving various human body parts....

I'm waiting for some quarter mile times in cooler conditions for an R with a flash an exhaust and a fuel pump.

I'd hope to see something in the mid 12s. You shouldn't need to spend 12k to get that sort of performance.
