There has been another 12 months of testing gone into the new version - a lot of work behind the scenes in Europe and we have 4 APR dealers in Australia who all own Golf R's that have been testing this version well before any release to the public.
Brenton, lets get the new file in your car & let you do an independent dyno & you can post up your own results!
We have run cars back to back from Dynapack to Mainline, and as Anthony mentioned, you will not find much difference between dyno's that are properly set up.
The big things that can change on a chassis dyno is tyre pressures & hold down strap tensions - next time anyone is getting a dyno run, ask the operator to demonstrate the power differences when you change the tyre pressure 20 PSI or crank down (or loosen) the vehicle straps - you can make it read what you like.
If doing it on a dynapack, get the runs "uncorrected", this shows you the true data as collected before the software applies any corrections. Running in different gears gives different torque & HP numbers (power on a dyno is only derived from the measured tractive effort) and it might vary 4-8kw on a 250kw car - but obviously that missing or gained KW's could start a forum war.
Always log your intake temp (via VCDS) and boost whilst you are at it - this will give you insights as to why you get result "A" and on a different day you get result "B".

You've only just found a solution for something you helped pioneer ~5 years ago? Unless the 8P S3 and Golf R don't share similar hardware and you guys don't have such extensive experience and knowledge on the VAG platform?
