Golf GTI MK6 - Low thottle hesitation (Bluefin Stage 2)

Hi All,

I have a Bluefin stage 2 tune (Stg 1 Carbonio, CTS down pipe, R8 Coils) and I am experiencing some hesitation issues. I recall having this on stage 1 as well but this was latest fixed in an updated tune.

I have have communicated with Bluefin reps however, after 3 different tunes the issue is still there.

The issue occurs normally when the car is warmed up with light acceleration around 2000-3000rpm and is more pronounced when in D on the DSG. I logged it via VCDs yesterday however it wasn't as bad as usual.

I have sent the log to superchips and I am awaiting on their response. The log can be accessed via https://app.box.com/s/ay443xfkwvzz80as2lv1

For all those gurus out there, can you please check if it looks normal?

had the exact same thing mate

easy fix!

remove the APR intake and put the stock airbox back on. fixed all my issues. I went back to their original stage 2 map and it was perfectly fine.

I had a year of headaches with the same thing.

Lol, I just bought a new filter for it too.. I'll put on the new filter and see how it goes. If that doesn't work, i'll run the filter without the carbonio enclosure... and if that fails i'll try the stock airbox.

mate I bought a new filter for mine too. didn't help one bit.

swap the stock airbox back in, I bet it will help

Here's some information extracted from the log for a 3rd gear pull.

Does this look ok? my duty cycle seems quite high and my actual boost vs specified boost are off. I'm thinking there may be a boost leak somewhere?

really not sure so I don't want to guess sorry.

its a 10 minute job to change the airbox, try that first before you look deeper.

Remove the APR intake and put the stock box back in. This is the only fix.

I actually tried using the stock intake with k&n and afe panel filter and the conclusion was more responsive down low but less power at the high rpm (compared to cold air intake set up). This is beneficial for short technical circuit and city driving.

yup, normal.

you WILL lose top end without the pod filter, but your car will drive like it is supposed to without the hesitation
