I was hoping to get 185-190kw, and was quite surprised to see over 200kw!

    Great result. Go DNA Tuning!!!

Is that a "stage 1" with DP & CAI (as your signature suggests)?? I'm pretty sure your quote of "180-185kw" from other brands are taken from R's with a "stage 1" tune only with no hardware additions - Correct me if I'm wrong....

    Hey Lucas
Lucky for you my Golf R engined Audi S3 isn't actually a Golf R [but mechanically identical]
APR flash,HPFP,VWR intake-206.6kw/371nm at all four wheels.
Good result on your car too,not having a go,don't care what tunes people are running.
I think you could put identical mods on six cars and get six different results!
Good day out with a good bunch of people.
    Cheers

Good point. Even stock cars get big differences in figues - my car didn't do especially well stock compared to other stock cars a few dyno days (up to 5kw down) but it was 5kw better than others.

A 10kw range stock might, and I repeat, might mean that you'd get the same 10kw range for identical tunes. Let alone other brands.

Way I see it, as long as ya happy with the brand then it's a good mod.

Yes its a stage 1 tune from DNA Tuning. I only fitted the dump pipe on Thursday/Friday last week and havent changed the file on the ECU. I drove all the way down to Revesby from Newcastle purely so i could compare the DNA tune to all the other brands. So as per my sig, ive got intake, dump pipe and stage 1 DNA Tune.

There were an abundance of R's and a few S3's there yesterday. MACCAA (who posted previous to you) and i were probably the closest in the power/torque figures - i understand he has the stock exhaust but has a fuel pump upgrade - therefore making his APR tuned car a Stage1+.

Many other stage 1 Golf R's and S3's were around the 180-185kw mark, some were dead stock except for a stage 1 tune, some had the same intake as mine etc. I might have been the only one there with a stage 1 tune but with "stage 2" modifications?

Regardless, i didnt mean to start a tune war or anything like that, i simply wanted to let people know that DNA can and have provided a good strong tune for the Golf R / Audi S3 engine.

    Such a strong result.

I'm gunna do the dp soon-ish and wouldn't mind running ours side by side if your keen?

Should have similar mods, just different brands.

Hi Len. Good to chat to you yesterday. Yes we ended up with quite similar results - just achieved differently. If i remember correctly, your exhaust is untouched, but you have the upgraded HPFP.

Sure Andrew - why not. Would be good to see if theres any difference on the road. I was hoping you (or another Viezu tuned car) would come along yesterday. But apart from Christina's R32, there were no Viezu tuned cars.

Thanks Lucas, that result looks great; I guess your butt dyno already told you how potent the tune was compared to how it was before, but it is always nice to see figures to back this up.

Anyway, look forward to when you get your stage 3 mods ready and load on our stage 3 file!

Yes John, the "butt dyno" told me that your DNA tune was definitely more powerful than the previous Bluefin tune i had. And then when i took the car for a drive on Friday evening after fitting the down pipe it felt better again.

So my various results have been:

    Stock tune + VWR intake = 166kw
    Bluefin stage 1 + VWR intake = 186kw
    DNA stage 1 tune + VWR intake + Scorpion downpipe = 204kw

    Hey Lucas
    Yep I've got the HPFP.
Doesn't seem to give bigger ultimate kw figures, but more power in the mid range due to better fueling.
    Cheers
