    Fault code

    Hey i retrieved a fault code from a VR today that i havent in my time seen before - Engine overspeed engine warranty VOID!!!!! how good is that!!!!!!! Hmmmm driving Miss Daisy NOT!!!!!!!!!!!
    Anyone had that one????????????

    havent had it but ive heard of it. Its not that uncommon at all.

    Been around these for 15yrs mate 1st time ive seen it phrased like that, having said that it was on VCDS, 90% of my time was spent on 1551,5051 and 52 now at home i use VCDS (Vagcom beta) of course.
    Found it quite amusing

    lol thats classic so if you over-rev the engine your warranty is void???

    Does that indicate that the rev-limiter has been removed, likely with a chip, or reflash (on later models) and then the engine has been inadvertently revved over it's factory max rev point?

    I love the wording of the fault code nice to see some engineers have a sense of humour!

    It sure is mate i had a good chuckle. Next one will be O2 sensor implausible signal- is the thing connected???

    hahaha i had that when i was at the Track in my GTI

    I Up Shifted from 3rd in to 2nd to early (without glancing at the tach((note car was on standard exhaust and dead quiet inside)))

    released the clutch and the rev counter turned past 7500RPM

    OOPS!
