Well I have 2.5 inch exhaust and dell's with just a filter sitting on the top so the only thing letting me down would be extractors.

Hey Loon, those extractors you got from striaghtline, are they interchangeable with all 1.8 litres 8V and 16V and how where did you source a gasket from?

$250 bucks is pretty good value!

They use the stock gasket and only fit all 8vs. 16v head is different.

I reckon thats good value. And they are bronze in colour and look sensational.

Sorry wise one, but I dont agree. I hate those two piece early manifold. They always have broken studs and rusty holes in em. You cant tell me that a nice set of extractors dont make an improvement over the stock strangler manifold.
I'm speaking from other peoples experience as well as mine Loon. Its been tested on a dyno in the past and the gain is not worth the trouble unless one builds a race engine. The factory twin manifold is regarded as quite efficient and they are not strangler ? as you put it.
Just don't get fooled people I'm not wise for nothing.
And Valver is spot on, 2 inch pipe is max for this application any bigger and all goes backwards.

Overall gain as opposed to factory manifold is bugger all , its the midrange gain that makes it worth it . 2 inch is too big , 1 3/4 is the biggest I would go . Work out volumetric efficiency of each cylinder and you will see why

    I'm with you Loon

When I brought & fitted a set of hurricane 4-2-1 extractors along with a full 2" system with a single hotdog(resonator) and 2.5" straight through muffler along time ago & tuned it, I couldn't believe the difference it made.
You didn't need a dyno graph to tell you it was making more power, could feel it all the way through the power range. It was sharp & very responsive (especially when I had 3" straight through rear muffler but after 1.5 years of driving to Melb and getting older & wiser, the noise got too much.)
I've since changed back to a rear 2" muffler, and doing that the engine isn't as sharp or responsive as it used to be but is a hell of alot better on the ears.
I brought these in 1996 from a local exhaust place.
I just rang Exhaust Bros (03) 5277 9719 and the still have a listing for Hurricanes 4-2-1 & can still get them.
They quoted $330 fitted or $280 supplied.

Take no notice of experience if you like .Go ahead waste your money and yes 1 3/4 is the go sorry Í was thinking 16v for a moment.
Most UK tuners don't recommend extractors .Funny that.

Are we talking about individual header size or exhaust size ?
The other thing to note is there is no point changing exhaust on stock engine , the gains are minimal , its only once compression is raised , cams and valves are fitted that you should look into changing exhaust
