I bluefinned my mk6 gti and i love it. Power is very smooth and breaks traction easy now, am very interested to see what hp it puts down at the dyno as they are seen as most conservative out of all the brands. Price wise it is cheap at only $680 and the whole procedure takes around 20mins + 4 mins for getting a reply from bluefin (yep they are fast!). And you can put your stock tune back in whenever you want.

Just another alternative to look into. Where abouts do you live in western suburbs???

Yeah the tunes are great, ive driven a stage 2 REVO tuned mk5 gti, went well,

But, dont be fooled that your DSG is up to it. The power is fine, its the amount of extra torque which kills the gearbox. the DSG are generally rated a touch above what it puts out stock.

The DSG is rating the same as the manual gearbox is rated. Just as there are standard manual gearboxes in Golf's running around with 500Nm+ torque, there are standard DSG's running around in Golf's with 500Nm+ too.

If you're doing 1/4 miles or traffic lights GP's all the time, then yes, you're going to have trouble. Trouble with the DSG, trouble with a manual. If you've got decent mechanical sympathy, you're fine.

Either way, DSG or manual, you've always got the option of upgrading the clutches and diffs to handle the additional power and standing-start abuse if you'd like. The DSG also has varies "Stages" of software flashes to handle additional power and torque, as well as aftermarket clutch packs...

VW highest rated DSG is 500nm which comes in your t5gp

But that is obviously a safe rating, im positive they can always handle more then stated, but how much . . .

This ain't really the thread to go deep into discussion on this topic... I suggest that you look at one of the DSG specific tuning threads. Suffice to say that there are tens of thousands of people around the world now running various levels of torque comfortably exceeding the VW's conservative rating.

From my understanding after reading a crap load of threads spanning over so many forums,
many people say the tuning for DSG gives lower torque output than the advertised 410nm just to be safer for the gear box, but even then it pushes over the stock 280nm, so it shouldn't be too bad to not have the advertised 410 for DSG.

On topic though, I might be settling with the GIAC, seeing as all Stage 1 Tuning offers/ends up being similar, I think i'll go with the one thats easiest for me to get to and I've been speaking to Arthur at exoticars and he seems like a stand up bloke.
