When you say "shifts up early" I presume you mean significantly before the redline and when you say "Manual" I presume you mean you've got the DSG stick in the -/+ slot and you haven't just "overrode" the S or D mode by pressing one of the steering wheel paddles? I only ask because I haven't experienced that myself in my Stage II+ R
(btw... the + is the fuel pump, which you don't have or need cause you've got a GTI with a TSI rather than the older TFSI, but that's another topic

In relation to the DSG tunes, in Sydney we have
City Performance Centre who carry the HPA brand of DSG flash. Whilst other brands (GIAC and Custom Code) also have DSG flashes, their product pages read so similar to the HPA page, that I'm for one convinced their products are just a rebadged HPA (please note, that's my guess and hasn't been confirmed by GIAC or CC reps. Having said that, it also hasn't been denied by their reps when discussed in old threads...)
There are 4 stages of DSG tune. They start at "Stage 2" and that product is safe to use with the standard DSG clutch packs. Stage 3 is better suited to aftermarket clutch packs. Stage 4 is completely customisable.
If you did get aftermarket clutch packs, since you have a GTI and are putting the power through the front wheels, you can get the Stage 3 DSG tune but with the Stage 2 LC component, as it's pointless trying to launch a GTI above the 4750rpm limited offered by Stage 2. They'll sometimes refer to this as a "Hybrid" version. Note that it'll end up costing you several thousand for this upgrade after the clutch packs, seals, flash, and labour are included - and I do mean "several" and not "a few".
But give CPC a call, as they've got all the info and knowledge
