Would ceramic coating on the DP help?
Magnaflow should be fine as long as its 200 cell metal inside.
The problem with the TSI downpipe & custom fab is a few things. 2.75 is the ideal size we are shooting for & its not super common, so some places don't keep it - secondly there are two heat shields that need to be fabricated onto the exhaust in the first section, there is a lot of wiring & coolant hoses running close to the upper section - not impossible, but very time consuming on one offs. We have also added extra heat protection where is passes under the intercooler return section & through the sump cavity. No use gaining horsepower if you add intake temps or shorten component life!
Would ceramic coating on the DP help?
Sorry, I meant in addition to the 2ndary shielding - I'm paranoid about heat soak.
We are now 18 months down the track, has anyone seen a downpipe for the 118TSI yet?

What about this one: VAGSG Community - View Single Post - Velocity downpipe for vw scirocco/golf/jetta 1.4 tsi
It doesnt have the heat shields but surely you could get an exhaust shop to help out with that when installing.
