Dealership Servicing with stage 1 tune

Hi all! Have my 15k service coming up. Will be taking it to the dealership, has anyone had any trouble from the dealerships with ECU flashed cars? Are there any dealerships that don't mind mods, or is it best to keep schtum?! Thanks

??? where did u get the tune, and why dont u go there to get the service?
as far as service goes, its fairly routine, mostly fluids and tick the box. unless u have an issue which might need further investigation. but still, its not really something that they will pull u up on.
if u get the car back and they say, u got a tune, warranty voided. then i would ask for what? nothing has gone wrong, and take it to an independent next service

had it done a coupe of months ago, just put it in and say nothing. Mine even had an oil leak on the turbo , all fixed under warranty.

Remember that the service centre is working for you and want you to come back. The warranty issue is an administration issue for VAG, the Service centre is happy to do warranty work as VAG pays them for it. The challenge they have is to show cause for warranty work.

Honestly they drive the full range of vehicles there is no way they are going to know by just driving it and the computer will only tell them what they go looking for..

I never had any problems taking my car to a dealership with an APR tune. They never once mentioned it to me, and I had the dsg replaced under warranty. I never switched back to the stock program before taking it to them either.

They won't know it is tuned by driving it, huh ?

You would hope that it is noticeable

It's a lease car and they insist on dealership servicing...I'd much rather take it to an independent but that's the way they want it!!!

I turn off APR and lock it out with a PIN code when servicing just for the sake of it. I paid for that feature so might as well use it.

I just take it in as is.

It's got an intake anyway so pretty clear it's not stock.

They love it. It's also a small dealership service area so they aren't too fussed about these things. Place more importance on repeat business.

Having spoken at length with the service manager at a large city VW dealership, they are well aware a lot of the sportier cars are probably tuned, but unless they have reason to look, they simply don't have the time, nor do they bother. If you motor explodes, worry. If you are getting an oil change, worry more about dying on the way to and from in the traffic.

You have to remember that Silverfox has never put the foot to the floor yet

The service guys will notice straight away in fact I've been given a stack of work now after one dealer was so impressed and he asked the customer who'd tuned it, hes now ditched his previous tune and come across to the dark side. The only time you'll cop grief is if you try and BS them but most of the dealerships are good, I did hear that five dock was a place to steer clear of though even going as far as sending the ECU to Germany for a proper look in order to deny a claim on a Mk6 GTI
