Dashcommand + OBDII wifi - useful?

Is anyone finding that something like Dashcommand (iPhone / iPad) and an OBD II wifi or Bluetooth is useful? Is there much lag in the outputs? Any suggestion on a good wifi or bt OBD II adaptor? - ebay seems to have lots of them for <$20.

    Keen for any feedback, thanks.

I use a Kiwi Wifi and the biggest issue is the ODB rate of my ECU is only about 1.2Hz - newer cars will have faster ECU response to ODB queries from the sender units.

It depends what you want to use it for. I've bought the Torque Pro (just for fun) and it doesn't detect all fault codes but the gauges look good on the 7" tablet. I mean, what's the point when the fault light is ON, the car in the limp mode and your cheap scanning tool is telling you that there are no fault codes.

The best part of the Torque Pro is; it costs less than $30 and it will entertain you for one day or more. The cinema ticket will cost you that much and the movie lasts less than 2 hours.

People still go to the cinemas?

If you're into driving for the fun of it or going on cruises, etc it's nice to have.

I have a OBD wifi device and Dash Command - iPhone 4.

The app isn't fantastic IMHO. There is definitely some lag - I should try it with my new iPad and see if there is any improvement.

The ability to create custom "dashboards" is good but the way it is done isn't very user friendly…

PM me if you have anything specific !

ok, looks like the hardware is down to PLX Kiwi wifi or OBDKey Wlan.

Any specific experiences with eitehr of these units? Seems like OBDKey gets better feedback on lower latency.
