They used to be a good quality multi piece rim. As you probably know, they were ridiculously popular and fitted to basically every old Mazda, Datsun, Ford or Holden etc. But these days they are just a 1 piece cast rim (hence the low cost) and made in China. My friend bought a set about 5 years ago to put on his car and they are definitely nothing special these days. Personally I dont think they suit modern cars either, but thats subjective as its just my opinion.

Update : The replacement ABS Sensors have now arrived (I got one from two different sources in case one of them was wrong), as the 2nd hand one I got was shorter than the original and hence didn't work.
Both new ones are the same (as each other), so will change the dud one this weekend and fingers crossed !

About farkin time.

The car is finally all sorted !! The alternate sensors were the WHT003864A variants which were about 1mm too short, so stumped up for the genuine part @ $212.

But it all works.

YAY !! Now time for a decent drive in the hills

Cheers, was a long and frustrating process, and nice to have all the functions back and no noises on startup.

Thanks to all those that offered advice and assistance.


Have left the new wheels on the back burner, as potentially doing a cycling holiday in 2026 with a mate in Andorra/Italy, so need to save for that.


Still itching re getting more grunt via a Tune or Box (JB4 is the likely candidate). Have heard back from 034 Motorsports that they don't have anything yet to suit (was able to provide ECU & TCU software and hardware codes, so atm, that option is out.
