Thanks that's exactly what I mean.
Rexman; it also depends what you mean by "generic" tune. I don't think any of the tuners on here sell "generic" tunes; each tune has been developed specifically for each car and has been tested prior to being released to the general public.

Each tuning company customises their tunes differently whether it be for driveability (DNA), low end torque (APR) or midrange etc etc etc...I don't know much about other tuners and how they do it but each to their own and it really comes down to what the consumer really desires. Fortunately, I'm lucky to have the experience of both world in very different cars. One being a modded Polo Gti with APR V2 tune which spins the wheels like crazy and gives you the rush but not always the best thing to live with but great for a fang. Whereas the Skoda Octavia vRS with the DNA tune is smooth, linear, driveable and fast paced without the major rush you get in the Polo Gti.
Reason why I didn't stick with APR this time round was due to customer service issues, high prices and wanting a go with a different tuning company such as DNA which made the Skoda very liveable and satisfying to drive without the wife knowing its been tuned (unless you push the pedal a wee bit harder...LOL).
