Cold Air Intake (with MAF sensor)

    Hey Everyone

Just seeing if anyone else has installed any type of cold air intake system into their Car whilst still having a MAF sensor plugged in?

Did you just get an adapter bracket so you could fit a pod on the end?

I`ve used a few on VR6s which have a similar MAF setup to your car.

You need to take the section of intake plastic out that contains the MAF sensor. It has a funny shaped end which you need to transform into a circle. Either make up an adaptor plate, or grind it down so that you can stick a Sport type filter on the end.

    Makes a nice induction noise

Yeah the idea is to attach pod filter with heat shield on the end of the maf then a flexi tube going down to the grill/fender

yeah grabbed a converter plate this afternoon from supercheap

probably gonna grab the other parts and fit tomorrow if its not raining

do you reccomend propping up the MAF? as it is quite weighty, a couple of brackets will do fine i guess?

Sounds like you are into it.

    Couple of brackets for neatness.

    a couple of hiccups

    ok

she starts but wont idle and you have to keep your foot on the pedal to keep it running.

so a couple of questions (apologies for the noobishness)

these are just camera pics and are a bit grainy

the vacuum pipe http://xs.to/xs.php?f=DSC00246.JPG&h=xs308&d=06422 , am i supposed to block it up? or leave it as is?

this is a pipe that originally ran into the side of the airbox http://xs.to/xs.php?f=DSC00247.JPG&h=xs308&d=06422
anything need to be done about this?

and here is the buttom half of the airbox just so you know what other components there were.

any insight as to what i may need to do to get this working would be much appreciated, as im sure other ppl have had similar/same probs

    Cheers
