Changing Colder Spark Plugs after ECU Tune

Has anyone changed their spark plugs to colder ones after an ECU tune?

A mate of mine highly recommended that I do so should I go for an APR Stage 1 tune as the boost pressure will be significantly increased.

I think you should use the plugs your tuner recommends. Not the ones your friend recommends. Not that your friend doesnt know his stuff.. I just think its best to run with what the tune was designed for.

+1. The person that wrote the tune would know best.

Cool! My friend's a tuner himself and drives a Stage 2 MKV GTI.

    Thanks for your input team!

Not quite the same IMO - unless he intends to have a look at your plugs for you.

Oh well, going colder won't cause any huge dramas if it's wrong.

Stock plugs recommended for APR stage 1. We don't change plugs until you go to stage 3.

    Similar discussion in Polo section...

I would think that you should be able to compare the timing pull in a tuned car to see if they are any better, but I may be well off... My theory is if you don't have timing pull, then the colder plugs wont bring a benefit.
