Can ecu's be swapped/ replaced?

I'm thinking about selling my revo tuned tdi
I'm just wondering if its possible to say swap ecu's with someone, they pay me a few hundred for mine, and therefore they get a cheap revo tune, and i sell my car as standard and get a few hundred dollars in my pocket?
it it an easy swap?
where is the ecu in a mk5 ?
any help would be appreciated

It's not that easy due to the immobilisation system.

The ECU is in the rain tray.

By the time you have paid someone to code both ECUs into their new homes. There would be nothing left. That's assuming you can find a purchaser that has the same part number as you.
