    Boost Gauge Opinions Wanted

    hey all,

just installed a podi boost gauge to my s3 and was relatively happy apart from the red needle...

    with lights on...

relatively happy turned to unhappy when i went to park the car and as i turned the wheel 180 degrees the back of the base of the wheel hits the gauge, it does stick out quite far...

    measured the bezel width...

as far as i am concerned i have 4 options and would like your opinions please...

    1. use my podi mechanical boost gauge from the a3. has full red lighting and needle which i don't like but i do like the podi quality / style.

    2. buy a podi mechanical boost gauge with white lighting. still has a red needle which i don't like and as its mechanical it doesn't provide the "start up ceremony" like the standard s3 dash.

    3. buy an auto platonium electronic stepper motor boost gauge that has white lighting but still a red needle. does provide "start up ceremony" and only has a 7mm wide grey bezel (same as s3 dials) and shouldn't catch the wheel.

    4. buy a gauge that one of the forum members suggests

    thanks in advance

    pics of auto platonium gauge...

depending on your MDF/FIS version, and model compatability; then this will give you a boost gauge, plus heaps of other things.

Unfortunately they don't work in audis - not compatible with the audi MFD at this point

Though keep it in mind as I know they are in the process of developing a product/firmware version for Audi's and the Mk7 Golf.

have you thought about (in a good way) hacking up the podi gauge in such a fashion as to make it sit more flush, and hence not hit the wheel?

i have mate but it needs a central module unit to run all differentgauges. i've been down the christmas tree light gauge set up before and only want to stick with a boost gauge this time so the module is a bit of a waste of cash, bloody expensive in the first place too...

think i've decided to order the auto platonium gauge tonight, i've had another look and appears to match the original dash guages pretty well for text and dial style...

    anybody any good with photoshop?
