I love my bluefin and their support, always happy to help. I am seriously thinking of doing dp and then stage 2 file, though finding a good, quiet and reasonably priced downpipe is a challenge.
Their tunes are probably less generic than the other ones your thinking of as they will actually do tweaks of your own file for you free of charge - as in the case of differing dump-pipes or intakes for example. The power figures are not that much lower either - especially in the GTI's and more common models.Really It all comes down to how people want to call their various stage levels - which is why I hate calling our own tunes a stage 1 or stage 2 because our R1 stock hardware tune eliminates most other stage 2 ' s for example.
Their stage 2 file does have a fair bit more done to it that the stage 1 too by that I mean changes in the map data within. Depending on the exhaust and the cat it runs you might want to request the O2 sensor mods to be done at the same time in order to avoid any CEL's

Get the resonated version and it remains quiet and sounds good.
check ebay
there is a german company that will ship here. i have one of theirs and the welding and workmanship is fantastic!
the Bluefin does NOT reset the ecu flash.
my car has been in for a service and they didn't query it.
people say that there is zero different with a cat-back only. but with noise suppression there is power lost.
anyway, a full exhaust will always be better than only a cat-back or down pipe. I think people say there is more power found in only doing the down pipe as opposed to only doing the cat-back
if my car has almost ran out of warranty, does it matter for the ecu flash counter?
I wouldn't worry about it
Umm actually it does reset the flash counter on the MED 9 cars well it has on the last 2 that I looked at. I am not sure how they have done it either.
DP only will suffice there is no need for a full catback as the rear section is actually surprisingly OK, certainly at around 210 kW atw it is not an issue
doesnt reset mine. I think my flash count is about 6.
