Hi guys,
just got a great price on a bluefin unit, set it all up etc, but i really cant feel the difference...
The only thing i feel is a drop in power when it changes gear.
Any ideas why?

Was it an official buy or secondhand?
First place to go for an official one is back to whoever sold it to you.
To prove any changes took place you should either log it with VCDS or run both tunes on a dyno.
Should be a noticeable improvement on a GT.

Hmm, also, it could already have a stronger tune installed and you've downgraded.

Hi, it's an official bluefin unit, and had the device reset and new maps sent to me from the UK.
I have VCDS but I don't really know what to log.
But it really just doesnt feel any different.
And the car only had one previous owner, and he really did nothing to it, nor have vw said anything.
I have only had my VCDS for a few weeks as well. I found this quite helpful (don't worry it is APR, applicable to all tunes). "round 1" should give you the info you need.

You should feel a pretty big difference in power even with stock hardware. Something aint right if powers down.
Can't see why the previous owner wouldn't tell you if there was a modified tune so I reckon' you could eliminate that one.
Not trying to be funny but are you sure you haven't just loaded the stock the back on? Perhaps the tuner sent you the wrong version? I'd give them a quick email and just double check.
Come along to the next monthly cruise and ill give you a hand taking some logs if you like.

I've got an Octavia TDI with a Bluefin and there's a notable difference. Seems to increase the turbo lag down low too which would explain the feeling when you're changing gears. With the standard there's a fairly smooth amount of power from standstill. With the Bluefin you notice that you have to get it above about 1750 (when the turbo kicks in) before it gets going.
