Best Turbo upgrade option?
I have been thinking about what kind of turbo upgrade I should consider for my car. I have a SEAT Ibiza, with a 20V 1.8T in it, and everythink is nearly plumbed up and ready to go, ut for the future (and i know im thinking ahead but it will have standalone management, so i can do what the f i like which is a bonus) I am thinking the easiest by far would be to change the compressor side of the K03 with a K04 compressor housing and compressor, leaving the exhaust side/wheel as it is.. so thats option 1. The next option would be to discard the K03 completely and put one of the larger K04's on the exhaust manifold, I believe the k04-001 is the only one that is a straight swap with the dump pipe, manifold pickup and compressor inlet and outlet all in relatively the same position as the K03. This i guess is the easiest of the K04's to swap over, but are there other size's with a bigger A/R's if I am correct which have a different dump pipe outlet and configuration? how much of a stuff around would they be in terms of plumbing? and the last option which I honestly do like the sound of the most, would be a GT25/GT28 on one of those cast manifolds you can pick up off ebay. Has anyone done this? what are those Manifolds on Ebay like? They look alright to me, but i guess it best hearing from people with experience. Mine is a 1.8T out of a Polo GTi if that makes any difference.
Cheers Guys

Hey mate. I think the cheapest and easiest way to go would be a hybrid Ko4 stage III kit. All directly bolt on so you won't have any worries about any fabrication for the manifold or dump pipe.
The kit I'am doing is the JBS04 stage III Custom Code kit. The supporting mods are very easy to come by such as an upgraded DV, 3" MAF housing, turbo inlet pipe, Ko4 hybrid turbo, FMIC, hiflow exhaust manifold, 2.5" turbo back exhuast, 380cc+ injectors, 4bar fuel pump, 4 bar fuel reg.
All good for 280-300hp and all directly bolt on and custom tuned by Gavin who suppies Custom Code a forum sponsor. And for the manifold I went with one from ATP and HPC coated it and saw a massive increase in torque. I'm not really sure about ebay for a part that is subjected to massive amounts of heat as even some brand names I've seen have cracked.
You have choosen a great little engine with heaps of options so this is just my sugestion but there are heaps out there now with good results.
Be sure to start a build thread when you get going too mate! Best of luck.

Thanks heaps for the info mate, I will most certainly do some researching on your tips. I think the easiest way would be to K04 it. atm it is getting an 3 inch exhaust done, and I dont want to waste the custom exhaust work thats being done, So if i could get a K04 with the same dump flange, or hybridize my K03 thats what I will probably do. I dont like the idea of just upgrading to a straight swap APR or whatever K04-01 package... its really the bottom of the line in terms of power from the K04's unless im mistaken. If i could keepthe K03 exhaust side, and get someone to put a K04 Compressor housing on the other side, and a compressor wheel which will give good topend, that would be superb...

I guess what I mean is, can I take the Compressor side off a K04-02X (from AUDI TT 225HP) and mate it up with my K03-052... using the K03s's exhaust side.
