Fully aware of the degree of affiliation but i can't see the point as we have all seen how these threads consistently go downhill with various folk trying to win the pissing competition.
Kudos to Greg Roles for his honest answer.
I think the best answer of the lot was "Go with the local support."

Agree totally...
But I will stand by my comments, why did V-Tech start talking about tuning an Amarok when the OP wanted a tune for his Jetta? To the best of my limited mechanical knowledge, I do believe these vehicles MAY be completely different and bear no resemblance to each other bar the VW badge front and rear.
IMO, the best tune is one undetectable by VW diagnostics, meaning no voided warranty. From what I know, none can offer that reassurance.
Isn't this a primary or at least top 5 consideration for most customers??
We are not here to slander competition.
Electronics is our bread and butter.
The argumentative tone was not started by ourselves but merely replied to.
Its funny to see people lose their temper in a small marketplace such as chip tuning. We certainly have not lost our cool.
We will stand our ground though and wont be ordered by a stooge who has sweet jack all to do with electronics and thinks knows the world.
We are happy enough to do the tuning locally in a way that a vehicle manufacturer is not able to see which not many companies in the marketplace do.
Jetta and Amarok have the same engine, tuned differently but the heart is the same.

Possibly to show a certain level of expertise & a broad spread of knowledge? I have vendors do similar to me all the time - they gush on about their expertise in lining dirt irrigation drains & all my stuff is concrete or they tell you about the mobile crane they built & you've asked them for a water cart. It's a fairly common sales technique to at least assure the potential client that they have half a clue.
The whole copy/paste thing is a bit weird - I'd just put a hyperlink in.
Digital marketing is a whole new field & it's difficult for many to get their head around it.

You are saying that the 1.4tsi in the jetta is essentially the same engine as the 2.0tsi in the Amarok? I guess you are right because they both have cams, pistons, conrods etc but isn't that like saying a datto 1200 engine is essentially the same as an LS6?
Or have I missed something?

Personally, if I was going for a tune, being undetectable by VW is well down the list, if it even makes the top 50 !.
My top 5 would be (if I were to tune)
1. Support (national)
2. Bang for buck (driveability and performance)
3. Retunes free if wiped by dealer/hardware added/prior to sale etc
4. Solid company (not a one man fly by night) with some crediblity
5. Ongoing development of software and hardware
