Bump...... Keen to find out more, thanks in advance
alright guys.
I've got a mk6 golf R and I've had a stage 2 APR tune for a few months now and I'm wanting something extra.
Currently running the stage 2 tune with APR down pipe and Milltek cat back.
I'm undecided on whether to go to 2+ or straight to 3.
I've tried hunting through the forums but I couldn't find the specific answers I'm looking for so I'd appreciate some feedback to my questions.
I've got a pretty good idea of what to expect performance wise from 2+ vs 3, I just want to get my head around the parts required for both stages and what I can expect to pay.
From what I understand 2+ requires the HPFP and CAI. If I was to do this option is probably go for APR HPFP and VW Racing CAI. What should I expect to pay for the parts and installation? Also happy to hear suggestions of other manufacturers.
TBH I really want to go straight to stage 3 but I'm confused after reading various different things. From what I understand to get to stage 3 I'd need HPFP, CAI, inter cooler and turbo (from what I've been told by the guys that normally look after my car). I had a look on APR website and there seems to be loads more parts for a stage 3. If I'm going to do it I just want to install the core components that will let me get the better performance but also be safe a reliable.
So what exactly do I need for stage 3 and how much will it cost for the parts and installation? Also happy to hear recommendations of other manufacturers (although I know I have to use APR to get the stage 3 tune for free....I think??)
And would I have to upgrade the clutch for stage 3? If so how much would that cost?
Has anyone had any major issues with a stage 2+ or 3 for mk6 golf r?
Anyone in Sydney got a 2+ or 3 tune? Wouldn't mind checking it out before I make the jump.
Cheers in advance

Stages are really a subjective thing. Some places want a bigger turbo for stage 3, some just want a HPFP, CAI, Dump pipe.
APR for example seem to have a heck of a lot of parts they want ($12000 worth) for a Stage 3. APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.
My personal approach is to get performance parts as I can and get a custom tune for the loadout rather than "buy these things for our tune".
To each their own of course.
