Guys, I wouldn't advertise that too much.
Did you just drive into the dealership and ask them to diagnose your car? I heard there was a recall on coil packs for golfs (MKVs anyway), mines out of the warranty period but I'm just wondering if I could just drive in and ask them to replace my coil packs in case of failure in the future or something along the lines of that.

I coughed and spluttered into the dealer service centre running on 3 cylinders. They were pretty busy but graciously fitted it in and got it fixed fairly promptly given they had to order parts from Sydney.
My advice, keep a spare coil in the boot. It's a very easy thing to fix, could be done on the side of the road with no tools I believe. They're only about $50 or so each.
