I have the stage 2 tune on the car, will you be releasing an updated version? Am I understanding this correctly?

Well I picked it up and took it for a bit of a hammer... It's with the latest v3.1 map.

Yeah well it certainly does hammer and definitely quicker. I was able to get the "loss of traction" dash light to come on much more easily when doing a bit of a launch around a bend, it kind of lit up a couple of times. The car really zooms off a lot harder.

Top end on the highway above 100kmh seemed to be heaps more like a sling shot.

For some reason I had it in my head that throttle response around town at low/mid range revs would be heaps more noticeable, but I didn't really notice anything at all except for when I basically have my foot to the floor - and then yeah sure the car hammers! But it still feels pretty typically Golf R non-responsive in D mode until you plant your foot.. Did others find the same thing?

Overall, considering its just a chip that's been flashed with zero hardware involved, the gains seem pretty good.
MY11 Golf R and loving it.

Next thing for you is coilovers, then better brakes....

You'll go around corners 10x faster and you'll stop again and again without fade.... Once you're done with that, then you can go for the power gains...

Tune and suspension are absolute essentials though. After that you can choose how crazy you want to go. The only limit is your willingness to spend!

It's the pathetic set up of the drive by wire. Nothing to do with the engine really.

    Get a sprintbooster.

With the SprintBooster, does someone need to tune/configure it? Or it is just plug and play?

We change the throttle mapping in our software upgrade, and we also do a "light DSG tune" but we don't call it that - we have had engine calibrations that are specific for the DSG since 2005.

The "D" & "S" modes react differently of course, and as mentioned above, "D" is pretty sedate in throttle response. At low to mid rev's we still have to deal with the K04 turbo & spool up point!

    Gents, READ THIS!!!!!

There is going to be a dyno day in Brisbane late April at BPS. I am just locking in dates with james in the next week or so. It will be around $30 each for the dyno run which is great. Plenty of euro cars there and exotics on show.

Keep an eye on the events section.

    Lets play.
