    APR Stage 2 Intake

    Hey everyone,

I have a stage 2 Carbonio intake on my 147TSI engine. The airbox is great, fitted well. The stage 2 pipe was a pain to get on, but its staying where it is.

I have a minor issue; the blow-by or crank case breather pipe enters the intake system right near the bend to the turbo intake - like the factory position.

The pipe 'plug-in' doesn't sit in the hole very well and I don't think it's sealing up properly and its allowing un-metered air into the system.

Has anyone else had this issue, am I missing a rubber seal for that pipe?

I'm thinking I remove the stock pipe and stick an oil catch can in there as there was a bit of oil in there - which explains where its going.

Anyone got ideas? Or should I just get a rubber seal and use that?

    Cheers!

Its a pretty common problem. Ive cleaned up a few stage 2 pipes that have come into the workshop. Poor fitment of the clip on hose over the carbon pipe allows oil to weep onto the exhaust heat shield where it then pools. Keep an eye on it because its a fire risk in my opinion.

They should have cast a nice machined alloy bung into the carbon which would have been a precision fit for the plastic clip.

Have a chat with your local APR dealer. They may have a fix.

ok im glad other people have had similar issues. I think an oil catch can with rubber hoses will be a better option than playing around with the relatively short factory pipe.

Thanks for the warning about the oil, I will certainly keep an eye on it now.

No local dealer, I got it online. However, I don't mind fixing this issue myself.

    cheers tim!
