    APR stage 1 tune variations

    Hi all,

Just wondering is there any difference between the tune uploaded for a stage 1 Golf R with no mods vs one with a Carbonio intake?

I'm inquiring as I'm looking to order myself a Gruppe M intake soon as I read the other day via Arin@apr that they have stopped development on the new pod filter style carbonio for the Golf R, at least until they get the car in the US.

(see this thread VWVortex.com - APR Presents: APR's NEW 2.0T FSI S3/Golf-R K04 Turbocharger System!)

So I guess my question is will the tune uploaded need to be different than the normal stage 1 tune? And also if so will APR be happy to upload the stage 1 plus Carbonio tune if I am not running the Carbonio intake?

    Cheers

No separate tune required for any intake we have seen on a Golf R. If you run a tubular style intake (that removes the engine cover & factory flow straightner) you need to closely monitor the fuel trims, as we have seen several put in limp mode & having misfire issues.

Spot on exactly the answer I was after, won't be mucking around with those which require removal of engine cover so should be all good.

    Thanks Guy
