Have done my research also and it seems like a no brainer to go with APR

Called Dean at VW Power and he was very helpful, I cant wait to head down to download some NM's and KW's.
And with the gearbox - Some of the DSG's in the states are copping more than 300 kw's and no reports of failures which is damn good news to us looking at a minor 190kw.

Just had my car re-tuned with the APR map last night

Dean at Volkspower is (edit: WAS) an absolute champion and from what I can see has all the time in the world for his customers.
If any one is 'considering' this mod, just go do it! Very happy with the gains and I will soon compare the acceleration figures before and after the mod

Cant wait to drive my GTI again!!!!!!

Hey Adzy,

Out of interest, are you running stock with just the APR Stage 1 tune?

Or do you have other mods on the car too?

Sorry for late reply mate,
Yes the car is totally stock apart from the APR S1 tune. She has 8000k on the clock too.

Goddamn!!! I thought a tune would maybe knock half a sec off stock 0-100 time.. That clip has really got me druelling now.

I wouldn't get those times in my Jetta though... Doesn't have launch control since it's an 06 model

All I can say is that vid has made me want this mod even more now, so thanks for helping me blow my mod budget!
