APR Exhaust GTI - Hanging too low?

    Hi All
I had an APR catback exhaust installed on my Mk5 Golf GTI a few weeks ago. I took a good hard look under my car last night after a few scrapes going over speed humps and even just turning into a bumpy corner last night.

I noticed that the APR exhaust is hanging very low, in particular the resonator and the tubing from the muffler to the resonator. I measured the distance from the bottom of the resonator to the ground and it is 12cm. My car has not been lowered. Is this the result of a bad install or is this just how APR exhausts hang?

I'm going to call up the installer and APR on Tuesday but I would really appreciate any help or feedback from owners who have an APR exhaust.

Here are some pics (sorry for the quality - taken on my iPhone):

    Thanks in advance.

seems a bit low especially as your car is standard ride high... think the law states that the lowest point of your car to the ground is 10mm so you are only 2mm off! I would personally like it a bit higher up at the tips around the rear valance but if course not too close of it might melt...hopefully there are some APR owners on here to confirm for you... If it was my car and it was standard height and it scraped the floor i would be going back just to see what they said about it... if it was lowered then id say it was my issue not there's....VDUB...

I spoke to both APR and the installer and they both suggested I take my car in for the installer to take a look/adjust the exhaust. APR thought it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to adjust.

I've got it booked for Friday morning so hopefully it will all get fixed then.

Assuming everything goes well I think it's time to consider getting some coilovers - probably some H&R SPCs.

Just an update. I took it back to the installer and they showed me the car/exhaust while it was on the hoist. They adjusted it slightly but didn't want to move it any closer to the underside of the car in order to avoid the exhaust rubbing against the underside. I measured it again when I got home and it's now 13cm from the ground - a 1 cm improvement!

The bottom line is that the APR exhaust resonator is a big unit. I guess I can now lower my car 3 cm and it should still comply with the road rules.
