I had the basic tune applied to my R last week, and received an email (actually 3 copies of the same email) with generic information about the tune as well as specifics about the software file and version applied to my car.

Back when I first had my Polo GTI tuned it came with a silver APR badge to apply to the back of the car. I don't know if this is still the case with APR tunes today - I didn't get one with the R tune but the guys who did the tune know I wouldn't have installed it anyway so it may not have been offered.

When doing the R tune last week the laptop connected to the car prompted the techs for my contact details before the flash would proceed. They made a point of collecting my contact details even though I've been a regular customer of the workshop for 5 years so perhaps this is a recent change to the flash process.

If you have switching & PIN number installed in your vehicle, your APR dealer can print out & hand you an "owners manual". If you don't have a copy you can download it free of charge from here:

    http://www.goapr.com.au/support/dpp_...structions.pdf

If its a single program only, then generally you don't get this. If your email address is correct in the server, your installing dealer can click "email manual" at the end of the burn & you will get a confirmation email (as James has above) - If you didn't then the email may not have been correct or the tech may not have actioned it. In any case if you have any issues, contact your installing dealer for help.

We only have these new APR badges:

which are $29.95 - most dealers carry them in stock. Hit up your installing dealer.

Unfortunately we don't have any stickers.

If you need confirmation on what is installed in your car, send your contact details & vehicle details to "info@goapr.com.au" & we will send you a copy of the burn information.

Hey guys, I have a service tomorrow and I have been trying unsuccessfully to unlock my security code to set the "Stock" ECU program for the day. I've tried the APR instructions and the youtube video, with no success. Maybe I am doing something wrong? Could VW have somehow locked it on me on my last visit?

Not sure why you locked it to the APR program (usually only lock it to stock when servicing). Do you have the unlock code printed in front of you or are you going by memory? The unlocking procedures are here: APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles. (but you've probably already checked).

I don't think VW could change just that. If they did reset the ECU you would lose the entire APR and have to get it reloaded.

Guy_H will probably be of more help though.

    Hi Ryan,

The main reason why I locked it is because if you use the cruise control + button when accelerating on the highway from, say, 60km/h to 100km/h you end up holding the button in for long enough to activate the APR program selection. This bugged me somewhat, so I locked it. I've tried a few different versions of the instructions but I can't seem to get it to unlock. It's not the end of the world, but I'd like to set it back to stock before tomorrow morning if I can.

    Cheers
    Toby.

Fair enough, never thought of that reason (I just use the pedal on the right and then reset the cruise).

APR ECU Upgrade MK6 Golf - Customer perspective

    Hi guys

Got my 2012 Golf R booked in for APR stage 1 this week. When I spoke to the lady on the phone she said "you are aware that we can only put a single tune on the car and you won't be able to switch tunes - you only have enough memory to hold a single tune"

I didn't know otherwise so said, yep, that's fine. But does this sound right? Only reason I ask is because I've read about switching tunes via the cruise control stalk.

Not overly concerned about it but I guess it would be handy to be able to switch tunes when taking care for servicing.

    Cheers in advance.
