    another exhaust query

    am going to build an exhaust manifold for the 16v i need a little help in the runner diameter??i am going to go 4 to2 to 2somewhere under the car, a nice long system, i need help in which diameter tubing????

    Just use the same size as the exhasyt ports in the head and you cant go wrong.
    MK1 floG soon to have 16v 2L with cable change gbox - need a 16v turbo manifold

    be carefull of your gear lever when your measuring it up on the car, be sure to have the gears in 1st and 2nd making sure it dosnt hit the extractors/exsaust, its a pain when you have to take a angle grinder to your newly made extrators...
    2inch pipe is probably the most commonly used..
    the golf is not dead.

    If your interested i made some extractors to suit a 1.8 16v in a mk1, i havn't used them at all, they are 1.6mm wall thickness mild steel mandrel bent 4-2-1with two flexable joints and go into a 2 1/2" collector. I have a stainless 2 1/2" system to go with it...
