Are they really likely to pull apart the engine to check if your running standard cams?
Hey guys,
So my factory warranty will be running out in October on my MKV DSG R32. I have a good mind to put in aftermarket cams but as somebody pointed out to me the other day, it will greatly reduce the chance of a successful claim should something go wrong.
What i'm most worried about is the horrifying DSG stories, and the reason everybody gets the extended warranty.
I guess what my question is - Do you think getting aftermarket cams would void my warranty on the drivetrain? I guess, using pure logic, it would put more strain on the drivetrain and therefore they could use that excuse to deny the claim, not what I want to hear though..
Any experts on the field please let me have your opinion!
Thanks.

Pretty sure they'd be able to tell via ECU, no need to pull the engine apart, even if I were to reflash the car stock and put in the standard cams...
