    6 speed to a DSG

Just wanted to know if can be done, got the 6 speed triptonic tsi wanted to know if a DSG gear box would bolt straight in?

Can be done, but cheaper to buy another car.

    You will need:

    DSG Gearbox
    Full wiring harness
    Shifter equipment
    Instrument cluster
    Driveshafts
flywheel - spigot bearing, starter etc
engine ecu (possibly - depends on your base ecu)
Possibly pedal cluster set (depends on wiring harness)

Assuming you had a wrecked donor car of similar year, there will be between 120 - 300 hours to swap it out. The early to late CAN system changed as well.

Cheaper to buy the later Passat IMHO - resale on a car with original box will always be better too.

I'm just wondering why you would want to do it. Sounds like thinking afterwards that you wanted a diesel instead of a petrol engine and asking what it's going to take to change it over.

Unless your gearbox is stuffed and you have access to all the bits for next to zero cost I'd say it's probably not worth it. And then only if you have a big shed and are looking for a challenge to keep you busy for 3-6 months.

the reason why asking wanted to get more power out of my car. I have stage 1 APR but everyone is not sure on how much power the tiptronic can handle but they know how much the DSG can. I love my wagon and if was going to be easy that why was asking.

It's easy - If you want to spend 20 - 30k, but I still think that money could be spent better elsewhere!

whats wrong with a manual for higher power?

just don't install a button clutch and constantly dump it. stick with a full-face organic clutch and you should be fine.

    ohh sorry its an automatic?

will handle more than a manual or DSG.

just spend the money on valve body upgrade and torque converter to suit, and youll be laughing.
