If you get aftermarket brakes, they need to be engineered, but if you find a set that was OEM to that model, they wouldn't need to be, for example, if you got a set of Golf R brakes... Of course, I would still consult an engineer about it, but this is my understanding... The info I have about coilovers is directly off the Qld Transport website...

Do you know of anyone up here who would be able to engineer them? Worse case I'll get some Gold R brakes..

Here is the Oettinger GTD upgrade details, we have done quite a few around the country. You can ship your ECU to Brisbane.

Oh, Oettinger warranty applies to this upgrade.

Not sure of engineering in Townsville... I'm sure there are people up there that will do it... You will just have to do some ringing around...

You could try by starting here...

Do they do any Stage 2+ tunes? Or anyone you deal with?
Aim/want to get around 250hp+ with 450-500Nm. Taking the DPF would be the easy option, but don't want to unless I have too..

Highly unlikely with the DPF in place, and without a lot of serious mods. The limit is going to be the turbo EGT's, and you have some pretty serious emission control to work with in the MK6 . To my knowledge no one has sucessfully removed the DPF from the MK6 as yet, some good work going on with Malone tuning in the USA, but still very experimental. As per the MK5, plenty of people *claim* they can remove the DPF, yet few actually have long term results that work.

DPF removal wears a fine of 120k for an individual, and 250k for a corporation (business) involved in the process. this was recently checked out by some people contemplating the mod (that's QLD & NSW not sure on the other states).

Pretty hefty price to pay for a few more KW's

We have done mk6 DPF delete successfully as with all our MK5 DPF deletes all are long term successfully - I agree that only a few tuners can do the MK5 without problems returning although alot of the bigger companies advertise it.
Whether our DPF mk6 delete will work on different specs around the world can only be answered if I know the engine / hp and ecu used.

I knew there was a fine, but didn't realise it was THAT big. Geezuz!

Having cut up a MKV DPF now, I can see a few areas of improvement flow wise that would help, but it would seem we are stuck with having a DPF of some sort in place. Bummer, but probably for the best, for even though I'd like to see just what IS possible, I continue to struggle with the thought of driving one of those belching soot diesels. The fine makes my mind up!

    Plan B....
