16v engine... where can you fit a surge tank??

hey all i can seem to find a fitting for a oil overflow bottle on the head to mount my surge talk that was lying around the garage

take 1 16v


+ 1 surge tank


any info apreciated

Off the pipe on the side of the engine under the dissy. Loops to the overflow on the rad with the other end.

Are we talking coolant or oil breather here? That is a catch tank and not a surge tank in your pic: you can run the crank case vent hose straight to it. The second fitting on the tank is because most engines have a top end breather aswell; you can easily weld one onto the 16v rocker cover, and it's not such a bad idea to do it if you have access to a tig welder.

I've just sorted a proper oil cooler to mine. Between that and a new rad I'm hoping to see lower oil temps. Used to see 120 - 130C on spirited runs...

You don't have to but seeing as it's not in the car yet!
