Makes me sad re the dynaudio on the stock R 😥
When will it start being an option?
The R is not the most exciting thing out there but I didn't move back across for one to gain that.
I can vouch for the new BMW 3.0 six having had it in the 340i - although in stock mode it was a bit of a non-event, flicked across to sport mode with the exhaust it was magic. But I could only have picked up in the 3 series, the 1 series was just way too small inside to be of any use for me and that's before we got on to looks and the very tired interior.
As for the other contenders out there, there will be times when the Focus or the new Type R will provide a few more thrills but not as a daily and I couldn't cope with the Focus interior.. or the Civic exterior. And as I have absolutely no interest in a manual then neither are prospects anyway (although I accept for others they will be). I'm not counting the WRX in this pool as it just has no investment dollars put into it.. one for the Subaru guys.

My dealer said if I wanted to I could place an order right now for a standard R with optioned dynaudio. On his system the first batch of these would arrive in May due to the R Grid taking up most production right now.
I would have done this if they didn't have anymore Wolfsburgs available, but went with the Wolfsburg due to the limited run + better leather.
I've asked my dealer to confirm this also.
Kennyc, we all knew it'd happen
Anyone know how much the dyno add on costs?

1k apparently.
Dynaudio is worth waiting for just adds icing to the cake for the 90% of the time when you're using the R as a daily driver it's worth it, fantastic sound particularly now with streaming audio. Also interesting how good the economy is on the R7.5 DSG over the R7 DSG I'm averaging 7.2L/100km mainly extra urban, how are owners finding the R7.5 manual? City and short trips see the R as thirsty as before I wouldn't recommend it if your doing more than 50% city daily work probably better go for a GTI

I guess that makes the Wolfsburg the same price as a speced out r with driver assist dyno rims and leather. Wolfsburg might even come out cheaper.

Bigger discounts available on R's. When I was getting quotes a couple of months ago through my fleet provider it was looking like a fully optioned R was sitting around 60k.
They weren't willing to budge on the RRP of the Wolfsburg's at all, which were mid/high 60's.
Stock of the hatchbacks (with our without sunroof) is pretty woeful so I doubt that position has changed. The wagons might be a different story though.
