Lots (and lots) of different opinions about that. Most do suggest going easy on the brakes and clutch for the first 500Km (or therebouts) to give them a chance to bed in gently.
Engines - that's an entirely different (and controversial) subject. I suggest you do your research and pick the method that makes the most sense to you.
Personally I'm in the "use lots of accelerator but no lugging or high revs for the first 350kms, then gradually increase the revs used, with no sitting on the same revs for very long at all" camp. But there are plenty of people who have a different opinion to me.
Modern engines are better built than the old days so an extended running-in period seems to be less critical.
