Pick up! I was bored on the weekend and I went to a Sydney dealership who also had hatch sunroof wolfies x2 ETA delivery on the 23rd Jan 2018. Got to see the NADCOM system so no porkies from them.

I take it from what I’ve seen on Carsales etc that they come in batches (ie it’s been the white non sunroof hatches and wagons so far). Hence I think anyone getting the blue sunroof hatches will get them around that 23rd Jan mark as well. Pending more delays.

I test drove the m140i as well. Really nice ride. Love the feel of the steering wheel too. More expensive to ensure and maintain I believe.

Yeah tested it on saturday, not much more only few grand but that 3 litre turbo 6 cyl its awesome machine, different then golf r, with golf r you get more comfort and space, actually servicing the car fixed price of about $1400 for 5 yrs, which is another great value, although with bmw so many options, shld hear from bmw dealer re price in next few days it shld be about $68k with few options drive way.

Having just come out of a 340i I can vouch for the engine, but I'd struggle with the looks and space.

You should be able to get the servicing for free for the five years which is a nice edge on the R, but the margin is more like $10k if you're comparing apples with apples, although if you're waiting on a Wolfsburg then that margin comes down.

Worth considering if 'my issues' aren't 'yours' though.

    Thanks Dutch,
Yeah something to think about, as for margin it would not be that much, currently they do have m140i promotion $65 drive away, when I negotiated for wolfsburg with a sunroof got it for $65,5k,maybe not the best deal? As for m140i will get few options as most of come standard so shld come to anout $68k.

Yeah I was referencing a standard R, the dealers were playing arrogant hardball on the Wolfsburg so I skipped it - sounds about right for one with roof.

I'm not familiar with M140i pricing but BMWs generally move a lot on price with negotiation, less so on the M2 mind you.

I note the M140i comes with a tune half way between a standard 340i and the M-Performance tune I had. Have they had exhaust work done? That's what sold me on the deal - the cracks and pops put the four cylinders to shame.. says the guy moving back to one.

Yeah I know the feeling when it comes to exhaust and that's why I firstly decided to go with Wolfsburg love the exasust on golf r,after changing headers and full exhaust on my current car Toy 86 I thought exhaust is way to go with Golf R,
then I thought about it really I over with that, have asked about performance exhaust I think they are about $2.5k plus defuser.

I bought an R36 in 2010 and have been very happy with it except for persistent trim rattles/squeaks (Not real bad but I am a bit fussy). Great otherwise.

We bought a new BMW 328i M-Sport in 2013 for Elizabeth.
    1) No "soul"
    2) Those horrible runflat tyres - Lots of flats.
    3) BMW aftersales service. Liz was left stranded 500 km from home for 3 days with yet another flat tyre and BMW roadside assist would not help.
    4) Unbelievably bad headlights. We take the R36 when we have to travel at night.
    5) Very uncomfortable seats - We take the R36 whenever we travel more than 100kms or we would be crippled. BMW needs to look at VW and Audi seats.
I have just ordered a Golf R Wolfsburg Wagon and hope that we can be as happy as we are with the R36.
We may replace the BMW with a Golf R hatch if we are happy with the Wolfie.
    BMW - Never again.
    Neil
    I never met a horsepower I didn't like.
