You should be able to put down a $500 deposit to secure a car. I've been told mine won't be ready until Feb 2018 with a build start at end of October.

Found this quote on the caradvice comments section about the Wolfsburg and R spec/pricing:

    Wolfsburg gets (over standard R)
    - 432mm Drilled/Ventilated disc brakes (not mentioned in article but confirmed by dealer)
    - 19" light-weight "Pretoria" alloy wheels with stickier rubber (presumably Michelin PSS)

Anyone else heard of drilled discs and Michelin PSS on the Wolfie?
    Looking for:- RS4 B7 Avant.
Current:- Amarok V6 Sportline; Mazda CX-9 Azami AWD
Previous - Mk 6 R manual; Mk 7 R manual; Passat 130 TDi Wagon. Mk 7.5 Wolfsburg Wagon.

I thought the fronts disc were 340mm stock? 432mm is massive.

My point exactly. Even big brake kits are 380mm.

2017 Volkswagen Golf R Performance pack could come to Australia

This old news mentions 17 inch brake upgrade as an option on the european performance pacķ.

I'm guessing that's where the info came from but I doubt we get 17" brakes and an Akrapovic exhaust as part of standard spec, even on a Wolfie. Then again, this is Australia. We seem to get nearly everything as standard.

I just priced out a UK Golf R hatch to "Wolfsburg spec" - Pretorias, Nappa leather, Dynaudio. Even without a sunroof it came to $75,800! Add $1684 for sunroof.

The big brakes and Akrapovic exhaust were another $9000....

I've been looking at the press release pictures of the Golf R wagon on the web. I was under the impression that these cars are actually the Wolfsburg version. All the press pictures clearly have drilled front discs and Michelin PSSS tyres. Exhaust doesn't look like an Akrapovic but what would I know.
