Where and an idea on cost please?]Yep I sprayed mine Black as I didn't like the Alloy look with the Oryx[/QUOTE]
I got my sprayed at a wheels and calipers paint specialist, they take the tires off the rims, spray and wheel alignment. $700 for all 4, it all depends where you are this was done in Melbourne.

Was it done in gloss?

Just picked up my Golf R Wolfsburg wagon and got the rims Changed to Matt Black. Looks very slick... so happy with the look, way better than stock grey.
Just curious why you went matte v gloss? Can you post some pics..
I'm leaving my Prets stock but looking for a second set of wheels and debating matt v gloss options - given a lot of the black plastic is fairly gloss on the 7.5.
I'm keener on matte myself, but interested in opinions.
PS: if anyone is interested in a 'group' buy of some premium wheels (OZ, BBS, HRE or ATS) then please let me know.

IIRC some people believe matt black wheels show VAG brake dust significantly less, so your wheels will look "cleaner" for longer if matt rather than gloss black.
But if they are both clean the gloss would better match the gloss black trim that the 7.5 R has.
So, a factor to consider is how often will you clean your wheels ?

Just washed my Prets, so easy to get in there and wipe them completely clean, internally not a bit of dust left anywhere. Did not take long at all, personally love the 7.5 colour of said rim. I won’t change it for black, happy with my car just the way it looks stock. If mine were delivered black I would have likely left them that way too. I guess what I’m saying is I think she/he is perfect the way it left the factory. It flies under the radar perfectly without attracting any unwanted attention , plenty of dubbers out there that know what it is ..... I guess I better get back to waxing and buffing my pride and joy then
That is correct, although everything tends to show VAG dust.
To be honest there is only one potential gloss wheel out there I am particularly fond of, but it's a sizeable premium over matte finish. Most blacks these days are finished matte with some sheen, which tends to look a little more premium on an after market wheel IMO.
As for cleaning.. being a wheel kinda guy it's normally a regular chore. However two hours ago marked the first time since collection..
Agreed, today's clean was easy, and if I had Lapiz I would absolutely be keeping them as is. However as I am Oryx I am finally looking to do my black wheels, but I'll be going for a second set - the Prets will stay as is.
