Going to wait till they wear out and then get the bosch wipers.
I thought the factory ones are made by Bosch as well...whats the difference between the ones you're getting?

Apparently the standard wipers are French Valeos? Anyways for those interested, these are the Bosch A864S wiper blades people have been buying after going through a few VW wiper blades. Good reports so far.

There is a technical bulletin for this issue. The original bosch blades need to be replaced by Federal Mogul blades to rectify the issue.

On YouTube yes. So what about it?

They come over on a RORO car carrier which is fully in closed. Exhaust fumes come out the stack which is very high above the deck.

Can't see how they would get covered in exhaust fumes.

All I know is that mine (Dec 2012 build) have been perfect for all the 33,000km I've driven it. No smear, no shudder.

Had my fronts replaced two weeks after picking up the vehicle - they are ok but still tend to smear a little - lots of windscreen washer to keep it smear free,

I had crazy shudder issues for the first 6 weeks or so.

It's calming down now, I guess the friction or whatever was causing it is lessening.
