Another tick for Rob at Hunters Hill Window Tinting. A great job for a very good price, even did those A pillar windows on the Golf. My wife was very impressed.

Looks like he does more Golfs than any other model. Told me he had just done a couple of Wolfsburg R Wagons recently. He doesn't need to advertise - we do it for him on the forums...!

May I ask what was the price for tinting a golf? I work in North Ryde and will probably get him to do my golf wagon.

Don't quote me, but my GTI was around $275 from memory. His prices are very reasonable and the quality of the job is second to none.

That's about right for a hatch based on prn31's pm. Rob has quoted me $330 for the wagon. It's getting done next Tuesday.

Can anyone advise what level of trim dismantling is involved in tinting the side & rear windows ?

My guy in Sydney (Rob Salvia) doesn't dismantle anything and does a perfect job.

I can't understand why a tinter would increase his level of risk by dismantling the car.

The inner seals at the bottom of each of the winding windows should come out, which requires popping the top of the door plastics first. You can't get the film in between the seal and the window without creating a gap, and if you cut it to shape instead the film will catch on the seal when the window is wound down.

They may opt to pop the piece of trim at the top of your hatch window for a better finish. The clips are pretty solid, so it's very unlikely they'll break any (I've done it myself to tuck away the wire for my dash cam).

Thanks, suspected it would be along those lines.
