Why is 504 / 507 oil so readily available when it should not be used here?

That's quite interesting indeed. I suspect this is because the 1.4L engine is now only offered in markets with high sulphur fuel so no longer a case to factory fill with 504/507. The 1.4 TSI was replaced with a new 1.5L model in Europe back when the 7.5 came out but they had to keep the 1.4L model in markets with high sulphur content fuel because the particulate filter etc is not compatible with the fuel.

Can someone please translate the meaning of 502 / 505 suitable for 2020 Golf TSI.
What is the equivalent of 502 / 505 that one can buy in AU, from brands such as Penrite, Valvoline, etc, thanks.

Most good high SAPS oil is 502/505 compliant. I used Nulon 0w-40 for years but have recently changed to Castrol Edge 0w-40 A3/B4. Penrite and Mobil1 stuff is good too. The best ones are also compliant with Mercedes Benz 229.5 and Porsche A40 so look out for those.

Castrol A3/B4 5w 30 at any automotive store as long as it has APPROVED for VW on the label

Or just use Penrite Enviro+ 504/507 My TSI Polo has been running on it for 10 years without problems.

Its also interesting there is no mention of the oil capacity in the Manual of my TSI 2020..?!?

How many liters do we need when changing oil (new filter, of course) ...?!??

Most 2.0l VW engines take just over 4 L with a filter
A Tiguan 162 takes 5.7L Its the Golf GTI engine
