That's quite interesting indeed. I suspect this is because the 1.4L engine is now only offered in markets with high sulphur fuel so no longer a case to factory fill with 504/507. The 1.4 TSI was replaced with a new 1.5L model in Europe back when the 7.5 came out but they had to keep the 1.4L model in markets with high sulphur content fuel because the particulate filter etc is not compatible with the fuel.Quote:

Most good high SAPS oil is 502/505 compliant. I used Nulon 0w-40 for years but have recently changed to Castrol Edge 0w-40 A3/B4. Penrite and Mobil1 stuff is good too. The best ones are also compliant with Mercedes Benz 229.5 and Porsche A40 so look out for those.Quote:
