Wheel alignment and Drive Assist Package

    Hi all,

Had my first service of the R this week, and for the most part it went well (few parts for warranty jobs). One issue I have is with my drive assist sensor. Apparently it was throwing codes.

Anyway, the Advisor told me that if I ever wanted to get a wheel alignment done it would cost upwards of $1,000 due to them having to spend a whole day re-calibrating the sensor.

It sounds like BS to me, but I'd be interested to know if anyone else has heard this.

    Cheers

It's moreso to cover the cost of the equipment, than the labour.

Still, $1,000 is a bit rich.

They told me the same thing on the GC. So I rang the place were I'm having my GTI serviced they did the alignment on the same machine apparently for a fraction of the cost.

$1000 would be for a full adjustment on like a touareg with lane/side assist, ACC and reverse camera.

Gold 7 Id guess would take approx 2-3hours with setting up.
