What "STANDARDS" do you expect on Golf GTI MK VII?

Just in case people have missed this from the Drive article on the GTI and R:

In 2013, Volkswagen plans to unleash replacements for the sixth-generation Golf GTi and third-generation Golf R. With front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive respectively, both forgo their current turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol powerplants for more contemporary units of the same capacity developed in partnership with Audi. In the new GTi, which is set to be previewed in concept car form at the Paris motor show later this month, it is claimed to produce 168kW, with the R receiving a more heavily tuned version of the new aluminium block mill delivering a gutsy 209kW.

And the GTD will be a whopping 134kw

Dunno about dropping the GTI engine part, this engine (EA88 is different to the engine in the R (EA113) which should be the one that's being dropped.

The GTI needs standard Xenon's and 18" wheels. I'd be happy for the rest to remain as options.

Having seen the standard and the optional features available on the
regular golf, I think bi xenon lights, 18" wheels, adaptive cchassis
control, reversing camera and electric seats should be standard on the GTI .
Leather seats, satnav/high end touch screen, adaptive cruise control and so on can all be optional for a (TOKEN). I wish!

In order of expected feasibility:

RVC - very cheap for VWA to have optioned at factory.

8-way (tilt) adjustable drivers seat - not electric unless memory function - already standard on US GTIs

Streaming Bluetooth audio.

Keyless Entry and Start

Bi-xenons - a worthwhile option but cost probably makes it less optioned that it should be - could be added more efficiently across the entire GTI & R range.

Led daytime running lights at least.. for God"s sake they run on "Kia" cars!!!

I have a GTD and love it. I do not love the ripoff service charges. Try $550.00 for 30,000 km service. That consisted of an oil change and an inspection.

Bells and whistles are fine, I would really like to see VW match Hyundi and Chrysler with 5year and perhaps 150,000 km warranty, fixed price servicing capped at $300.00 .

I'd like to see as standard - across the VW Golf Mk VII range:
* Driver Alert
* Multiple Impact Brake Activation & PreCrash preventive occupant protection
* ESP, EDL, ASR and CounterSteer Support
* RCV and rear sensors
* A2DP Bluetooth Streaming and Telephone Support
* The New Touchscreen Display

Comfortline trim should come with Climatronic as standard, with anti dazzle mirrors, Cruise, City Emergency Braking, rain sensing wipers and light sensing headlights. Comfort Access and Keyless Start should be option at least.

GTI and GTD should be fruit heavy as standard, with sunroof and other opinion splitting items optional.

Fixed Price Servicing is well overdue, and should be introduced.
