It took Polar a long time to get their system working on the Mk6 display too, much more complicated reverse engineering the MFD menu system than just reading some values from the OBD port and showing it on a separate display I guess.

Agreed - last ETA was second half of this year but I wouldn't be holding my breath.

I think the situation was similar last time, a lot of the P3 stuff was showing up until the Polar FIS took over. I'd suggest if you want/need the info then short cut the process and install the P3.

I prefer the MFD integration as well but seeing Polar FIS takes time to bring their product out (which IMO is better than the P3), this is a good substitute.

Ordered some Mk7 weather shields from Ebay, which just arrived. VW Golf MK 7 Gtir Hatch 5 Door 2013 Onwards Weather Shield Visor Volkswagen VI | eBay

They were cheap, and are thin compared to ones I've put on previous cars, but that's ok.

The problem is they are solid black in colour, so not see-thru, and that strikes me as likely not being compliant with vehicle rules (e.g. tint cannot be solid block out either) or worse not compliant with standards that may apply. Any thoughts?

I use one of those bluetooth adapters and the Torque Pro app on my phone to display everything I need. It even lets me know when the car reaches operating temperature.

Hi all. I am looking for advice re car mats for a new Mk7 GTI. If the dealer wont throw them in, should i buy them from the dealer, or is there better options after market ?

    Thanks

Mats are standard on the gti. If you're buying the car do the research!
