    * I found Lakin but it'll cost $250 for a full set. Any decent (but cheaper) alternates out there?

Anything else people would recommend buying?
Hey mattaus, I can vouch for the Lakin gear - it's worth the outlay. As a much cheaper alternative I still have the rear base plate from my Mk7 and front and rear covers in full Euro size if that's the look you are chasing. I was flogging it for $30 or so in the used section if you want a look.

As for what else - well a high quality set of light weight wheels would be high on my list too.

I had a look at your listing just then. I was only going to get some slimline monochrome plates to replace my standard QLD plates. I'd only buy personalised plates if I got MATAYUS (how Mattaus is pronounced lol) but whilst they are available, I cannot justify $3,295 for them

So your plates are a bargain, but just not for me. That being said I should try find photos of a Golf with slimline plates because the space may look a little empty if you know what I mean. Euro plates would fill the space much better and I'm not sure if I like the idea of using bumper plugs (especially at $14 each...).

Only if I can sell my stock wheels to cover most, if not all, of the replacement cost! I read the daily wheels thread everyday haha.

EDIT: My brother bought LED kits from this mob for his Polo and says he had no errors. The pages for the kits do state "Pack without OBC error".

    Full interior kit.

    Number plate kit.

I know the map lights definitely are. If anyone can confirm the rest are as well (centre lights, vanity lights, glove box, foot wells(?) boot etc) that would be great!

I like the look of these boots liners. I found some pictures of them installed and they seem to fit really well, and have a nice deep edge. The Australian distributor is not far from where I work. RRP of $149 seems all right to me.

Floor mats are a toss up between these eBay GTI ones, and the Tailor Made lot from Motoquipe.

I'll check tomorrow. There might be 1 or 2 that aren't.

re: floor mats, do you realise that floor mats come standard on GTI cars?

    Maybe...

...OK, no I didn't. When test driving the thought to ask never crossed my mind oddly enough. Ah well, saves me some money now

    Thanks for letting me know!

Don't go out of your way. I bought a set off eBay for $25 that supposedly work and don't trip anything. Cheap enough to try, and I know I'll use them now. Of course I may have to replace all the lights because I don't want different tints of light throughout the car. It's not hard to do
