    Evening all.

Wondering if anyone's aware of a way to reprogram the physical buttons that run down either side of the discover media headunit (Mk7 golf alltrack)?

I'm interested in whether the useless buttons (voice and traffic) can be made to serve a different purpose IE launch app connect directly (android auto for me) or some other similar function.

If not through coding, through the discover media developer mode green screen?

I have an OBDeleven pro dongle.

    Cheers.

    Dear Don,

    Yes, it is for you….
This message should have been a reply from your post # 558 page 56…
I bought a 2017 Gti used with LED taillights ...
And I also have the VCDS but I'm not able to activate the flashlight signals on the trunk lid ... the configuration is not active ...
I want to return as an original VW ..
Other lights turn on normal ... only the signal on the rear cover on both sides does not ...
There is no error in the car dashboard ...
Could you help me if I need to activate something else?
Or it may have been damaged by the former owner when removing the towing system….

    My changes:

Leuchte16BLK in the search box to find the left LED channels
    Lichtfunktion A16: Not active
    Changed to: Blinken Links Hellphase
    Dimmwert AB16: 0%
    Changed to: 100%
Lichtansteuerung HD AB 16: Not active
    Changed to: only_if_closed

Leuchte17TFL in the search box to find the right LED channels
    Lichtfunktion A17: Not active
    Changed to: Blinken Rechs Hellphase
    Dimmwert AB17: 0%
    Changed to: 100%
Lichtansteuerung HD AB 17: not active
    Changed to: only_if_closed

It seems that I forgot to activate something .... could you help me?

I had before that a German 1.4TSI 2014 highline and besides that difference I also realized that when the light are turn on and the signals are turned on, the German blinks orange and in the back red are turn on too... so in that GTI when the signals blinks, the red goes off completely…

How could I send to you the pictures?

    Thanks in advance...

    @rafaelsgon:

Not sure that I understand what you have done, but below are the factory settings for the 16/17 Leuchte-sets on a RoW mk7 with LED tails.

As for how to include pictures on this forum, the easiest way (IMO) is to post them on a third party hosting site (like imgur) and then paste a link to the pic here

Does anybody know if it's possible to lower the threshold that auto-high beam turns activates on the MK 7.5? I think from factory it's 60km/hr. It used to be an adaptation in earlier mark 7 models but not sure how to do it on the 7.5 - someone on the OBDEleven forum said if you change the dataset you can still alter the activation speed if that makes sense to anyone?

Hi all, my car is golf mk7 1.4 tsi and recently retrofit RCD 330 280B, all goes well except in the driving mode, no custom items can be changed in individual mode, any VCDS tweak can solve it?

I would love to program this as well, even to just a phone button (either to answer/end calls or to go to the phone settings).

    2020 Mk7.5 Golf R Wagon, White

@veew: Alas - the delicious futility of an impossible dream!!!

Happy to be proven wrong, but AFAIK, the allocation of functions to the buttons on the MIB escutcheon plate is determined by the module firmware. So it's not accessible by diagnostic tools - except perhaps by VCP; and to successfully use VCP, you would need to know lots about the way that the module firmware is programmed.
