I'm irritated by the nag screen which appears each time I launch the Navigation app in my Mk 7 R.
Seems to come each first time Nav is launched in each driving session.
"For your own safety, please follow traffic regulations at all times." A pointless PITA.

Is there some simple code to permanently turn off this unwanted nag pop-up ?

    TIA's
bgroper: As Reedy correctly advises, it's all done in Byte 23 of the module @ address hex5F.

If you are using one of the new HEX series cables from Ross Tech, you should have access to the "yellow" long Coding Helper screens - Byte 23 looks like this:

If you are using one of the older VCDS cables, then you will see the more familiar coloured Long Coding Helper screen like this:

Either way, just change Byte 23 to hex00

Thanks for all the tips and clues.
There's so much good coding information (and some not so good) in this forum, its sometimes difficult to sort the gems from the dross.
For completeness, here's the OBDeleven details to remove the unwanted Navigation nag popup.

Hi Don. I did my homework today

Leuchte16BLK SLB35BLK SL KC9-Dimmwert AB 16 was 115 and modified to 0, but instead of left inner light, the right outer C type ring did not illuminate. Same for the Leuchte17TFL R BLK SRB3TFL R BLK SR KC3-Dimmwert AB 17.

    Reporting from İstanbul..

Although the Passat B8 and the Golf mk7 share the same MQB build platform and despite the fact that the Body Control Module (BCM) in both models use "Leuchte-sets" to control exterior lighting, the BCM pin configuration is different.

If you look at my instructions, you will see that I modify Leuchte17TFL R BLK BLK SRB3TFL R SR KC3 and Leuchte16BLK SLB35BLK SL KC9. The designations C3 and C9 mean that these Leuchte-sets control the lamps that are wired to pin #3 and pin#9 of the C connector on the BCM. On a mk7 Golf, these pins are wired to the inner LED turn signal lamp.

If you look at the admap HERE which is from the BCM of a Passat B8, you will see that the KC3 and KC9 Leutche-sets don't function as turn signals (they operate as Parking Lights).

I'm not sure if the 2 x Leuchte-sets above actually control the left/right inner rear lamps on a tail-light for a Passat B8. But, if you are prepared to participate in a little experimentation, I am willing to modify my instructions to suit your car.

What I need you to do is the following:
    1. Turn-on the Parking lights and confirm that the 2 x inner rear tail-light lamps illuminate. Turn-off the Parking lights
    2. Select 09 - Central Electr control module
    3. Select Security Access - 16 from the "Open Controller" screen
    4. Enter the magic number 31347 and return to the "Open Controller" screen
    5. Select Adaptation - 10 from the "Open Controller" screen
    6. Enter "Leuchte16BLK" into the search box and select Leuchte16BLK SLB35BLK SL KC9-Dimmwert AB 16
    7. Change the setting from 100 (or 127) to 0.
    8. Turn-on the Parking lights - the left inner rear tail-light should not illuminate. Turn-off the Parking lights
    9. Restore the original setting to Leuchte16BLK SLB35BLK SL KC9-Dimmwert AB 16
    10. Enter "Leuchte17TFL" into the search box and select Leuchte17TFL R BLK SRB3TFL R BLK SR KC3-Dimmwert AB 17
    11. Change the setting from 127 to 0.
    12. Turn-on the Parking lights - the right inner rear tail-light should not illuminate. Turn-off the Parking lights
    13. Restore the original setting to Leuchte17TFL R BLK SRB3TFL R BLK SR KC3-Dimmwert AB 17
    14. Report observations here

Greetings to the community, after making several changes via VCDS, I realized that all the items of instant consumption ... distance traveled from the start ... time travel as a voice disappeared from the central console (FIS), someone could tell me how to reactivate these entries to the FIS via VCDS?

I enclose photos of what I see now -> (long-term consumption)

Dark: hmm............ it was just a guess - we could just continue experimenting with other Leuchte-sets, but it might take a very long time to find the correct channels -alas.

The other way to do this is via a wiring diagram. If you have access to the wiring diagram for your car, I just need to know the pin # of the two lamps on the BCM and the socket ID (i.e. A, B, or C).

I had an interesting situation with the OBDEleven the other week. I was making some changes to another member's 7.5 Alltrack but when I entered the VIN it came back as a 7 Alltrack despite having all the 7.5 upgrades (it was one of the first delivered) including the AID and Discover Pro.

Did you end up getting the Traffic Sign Recognition working?

I have an OBDeleven and tried to follow these instructions (from autoinstruct) but could not complete it as i couldn't find some if the channels listed.

^^^I can't vouch for these tweak instructions and I'm not sure which channels you failed to access, but the newer 5F modules use Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2 instead of vehicle menu operation.

    Hi Don,

I could not find wiring diagram, but I know that Leuchte16 and Leuchte17 outer rings of the rear led light. Also Leuchte23 and Leuchte24 are the outer 'stripes' of the rear led lights.

OK - so you now know which Leuchte-sets to change (I assume). Do you need any further help? If so, post-up the full listing for each Leuchte-set and tell me how you want the lights to operate
