Awesome, thanks.
@DV52
Is it possible to do that?
(from my old thread)
Did anyone try to see the oil level on MDF (via VCDS setting) as the VW Tuareg?
I have tried several times, but without success .... maybe at GTI it is possible, I have VW TDI ....
Have a nice day!

Awesome, thanks.
Has anyone managed to get the Battery SOC status to show up on the MFD? It wasn't enabled on my 92TSI from factory although it seems to be on some other Aus spec cars?
It's not listed in my adaption channels on OBD11 - is there a way to add it?
Thanks

Daniel: Hi, Looks like a neat feature and my short answer that I'm not sure. But I went straight to my old fiend, the wiring diagram - here's very abridged version of what I found:
An encouraging finding is that G266 is identified as being an "oil level sender" - but whether this means that it's just a binary go/no-go device, or the type of sender that actually measures millilitres, I'm not sure. I've found from past experience that the fact that the sender has power supply pins generally mean that it can measure analogue units, but the complication here is the dual function of G266.
Anyhow, perhaps you can look at the software switches in the code-string of the Engine module on your car - there are none on the module in my car that are even remotely suggestive of "oil level".
My only other suggestion is perhaps the green-engineering screen for the MIB unit -perhaps?

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.
Thank you very much Don,
You are right, I found in Engine mode -> Adv. Meas. Values, oil level in millimeters. In the next few days I will try with VCDS to make some adjustments (I tried but failed) maybe Car_Function_List_CAN_Gen2-Oil_level_msg_bus "should be changed from Databus drivetrain to Databus Infotainment. I will try....
Have a nice day!
I found, on audiworld forum, the following encoding in channel map. It can also fit for the Mk7 Golf? I will see....
-Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_oil_level activated
-Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_oil_level_over_threshold_high activated
-Car_Function_List_CAN_Gen2-Oil_level available
-Car_Function_List_CAN_Gen2-Oil_level_msg_bus Terminal 15

I have tried this but i cant get it to work, Im not sure if it has something to do with the cat being in standstill mode or not. I say this as my Landrover Discovery 4 doesnt have a dipstick and it had to be checked electronically. About the car hast to have the engine stopped for at least 10 min before the measurement can be taken, which makes sense but it is very annoying.
Did you activate this one?
-Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_oil_level_standstill
Yea, but I can't see how or where it appears.
.....without success!
